This master class explores the background and key features of Internet Plus Strategy as it relates to transforming the struggling traditional sectors in China. Using Uber as a case study, this class discusses how IT, social media, cloud computing, big data and internet of things etc. have penetrated into the manufacturing link of the value chain, thus eliminating information asymmetry between manufacturers and consumers and providing a promising way out for manufacturers who suffer from declining profit margin in an increasingly competitive environment. The Q&A session will address queries from the crowd and try to come up with some useful tools for identifying industries that are more appropriate targets of transformation.
Afterwards, Dr. Ruipeng DI will share with you the distinctive features of the Dual Degree EMBA Programme jointly run by the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University and INSEAD.

About Speaker
Professor Ruipeng (Ray) Di is currently assistant dean of Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management. He received his Ph.D. in financial economics from the University of New Orleans, his M.A. and B.A. in international economics from Peking University. His research and teaching interests are primarily in corporate strategy, stakeholder management, business model innovation and capital market studies. As an administrator he was actively involved in founding and running the Tsinghua EMBA Program and TIEMBA.
