Operations Management is a broadly based field of study. It brings together a number of topics to examine the management of the assets, processes and human resources that are used to produce goods and/or services. Every organisation therefore, requires the skills of Operations Managers, though they may have different titles: production manager, customer relationship manager, vice president for quality, supply chain manager. Operations Managers are responsible for ensuring that the activities required to satisfy the wants or needs of consumers are carried out in the most efficient and effective way.
