Overview:
While the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) may be over, the legacy of the crisis has fundamentally changed many aspects of business. In this new competitive landscape firm survival and successes are closely tied to how effectively organizations develop and implement new innovative products and process. However, research suggests that many, if not most innovation processes are not successful. Drawing on prior and on-going research, Prof. Ian Williamson will discuss those attributes that distinguish firms that are successful at reaching their innovation goals. In particular, his presentation will highlight three critical components of a successful innovation strategy: 1) Knowledge complementarity, 2) Social capital and 3) Innovation reinforcing leadership behaviours.
